Chamber Praises GAO Decision on the Tanker Contract PDF Print E-mail
Today the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce President Larry McHugh praised the announcement by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) in support of Boeing Company’s protest of the $35 billion Air Force tanker contract.  Boeing’s bid included engines made by Pratt & Whitney’s Middletown facility.

“The GAO’s decision is positive news for the Pratt & Whitney plant here in Middletown and all of Middlesex County and we commend our Connecticut Congressional delegation and our state and local leaders for their hard work in during this important process,” McHugh said.  “We now have independent and unbiased confirmation that major fundamental errors were made during this competition and we urge the Air Force to act on the GAO’s recommendations and reopen the contract.”

McHugh pledged the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce’s continued support of the state’s Congressional leaders as well as Pratt and Boeing Company during this process.
